Ushers
Ushers are first and foremost ministers of hospitality and are entrusted with fostering a sense of welcoming and belonging among those assembled for Mass. Ushers are challenged to see the face of Christ in each person as they enter the church for our community prayer.
Ushers, by their very presence, are an example of the Christian love which binds us together. Ushers greet and seat assembly members as they arrive at church, take up the collection, direct the assembly at communion time, and greet people again as they leave the church. There is opportunity for a small number of ushers to just take up the collection, as we need more people for this one task than the other duties. Ushers are also involved with any special happenings at liturgies and in assisting assembly members with any special needs. Ushers usually serve the same time Mass each weekend.
For more information stop by the usher’s desk in the vestibule of the church after weekend Mass or contact Paul Scavone, at the rectory.
